Puberty tends to straighten out many a quirk in young children. Stop inventing problems until there's a need to.

Last Saturday we took him to his cousin's birthday party. They were playing musical chairs and he lost and he threw an absolute fit. He started SCREAMING at everyone and crying and we had to take him to the courtyard because he wouldn't calm down. We told him the only way he could play again was if he acted more mature, he said okay, and then did the same thing when he lost again. He then proceeded to stay in the corner and talk to himself until we left. Early.

He's twelve years old. There's no "inventing" problems" There IS a problem.

All the things you've mentioned so far that have caused him to scream and cry and throw a fit (losing at a game, eating vegetables, redoing homework) simply make him sound like a spoiled brat of a pre-adolescent. Doctors haven't found anything else wrong with him, and when he stops being treated like he might break, he'll likely grow out of it.

Yep, pretty much this. If I had pulled something like that when I was half your brother's age, the whole family would have left the party after the FIRST tantrum. If your brother continues getting attention instead of consequences for his actions, he will NEVER "grow out of it" ... in fact, it's highly likely he will grow older into a very unpleasant person.

Frequent crying/screaming fits and extreme obsession is not a quirk, not even when the person in question is 11 years old.
