Anon update
(Anonymous) 2013-04-24 12:18 am (UTC)(link)I didn't cut myself. I also didn't go to any more exams and failed all my classes except programming. I didn't go to any classes in winter either and withdrew from my program.
I thought a lot about my parents and my relationship with them the last few months. I realized even if Dad changes, it'll take a long time. It's not healthy for me to continue living with him while waiting for him to be less volatile. So, I'm looking for full-time work right now and I'll move out as soon as I find one. I'm also looking for counselors for Mom and me. Me, because I don't want to be keyed up and upset all the time anymore and Mom because she has wanted a divorce from Dad since 1998. Also, Mom used to be a head of department at a prestigious local college but now she doesn't think she has any employable skills and she doesn't think she'll be able to find work. She doesn't have any ambition for herself either, she doesn't have any hobbies and uses all her time to cook, sew clothes for Dad and look after the house. I think she doesn't do anything other than housework because she's afraid of getting Dad angry. I hope counseling will make her happier and raise her self-esteem.
