I think it's because Hathaway is a grammar snob? He pointed out some apostrophe misuse to Lewis in one episode and then Lewis was noticing it everywhere it and was getting to him too.

(I almost wrote grammar nazi but Laurence Fox has already played enough Nazis in his comparatively short career, Hathaway shouldn't get lumped in with them.)
