SO2 secret! I don't think I've seen one of those here before. Excellent underrated game.

My favourite characters were always Ashton and Claude.

Wasn't it that you had to choose between either him or Precis (I think her name was?)

Yeah, I recruited Precis on my first playthrough and Bowman on my second.

...I can't say I ever used either of them in my party, though.

He was also my favourite! It amused me that the game devs just didn't seem to give him much thought since most gamers would choose Precis over him, and their lack of attention let him become the strongest character in the game with his poison pills. He was also really fun to play as on Blue Sphere.

It always bugged me that his sprite wasn't as handsome as his status art, too.

I wish I could have loved this game as much as everyone else did, and ship the same pairings. I came out a Dias/Rena fan in one of the most yaoi-tastic fandoms ever.
