How's everyone doing today? It's been raining, windy and dreary. I rescued many worms from certain death.

Rescued how? Because if you moved them off the sidewalk and back to the grass, you just took away all their hard work in attempting to migrate. Shame on you.

Oho, but I moved them to the nearest patch of grass in the direction they were migrating to!

I like to imagine that deep underground there's an idol of you in some great worm temple. A whole religion around how the "Great Savior" comes when the rains fall.

(I do this too; it makes me so sad to see worms on the asphalt that people have stepped on. I move snails and slugs a lot as well!)

I don't pass by a lot of snails and slugs. I find they're more mobile than worms - when worms are on asphalt, they tend to crawl to the deepest crevice and dry up because they can't dig any deeper. Snails and slugs crawl to where there's shade so I don't feel the same urgent need to shake my tentacles in disapproval and move them out of the way.

Slugs are fun to play with though. They really like my strawberries in the summer.
