Funny, the fact that she looks physically older than him and yet is still presented as badass and sexy and desirable is one of the few things I actually like about that ship.

Also, she's like 49. That's not "old". It's middle-aged. Also, he's like 1200.

I have a lot of issues with the ship, but I love that River is presented as sexy and desirable.

Yeah, Alex Kingston is hot as River Song. She just oozes sexuality and could melt a stone. I love that she is older too and that none of the younger girls who are half her age can hold a candle to her.

Really? I probably like River more than most, and I still think she's hammy in the bad way. Flirty sex appeal is one thing, "two thirds of my dialogue is sexy one liners" is another.

But I think it works for her in a Mae West way. It wouldn't work for any other character on Doctor Who expect Captain Jack.
