The Gray Bat's Latin name is Myotis grisescens
They are listed as endangered, though conservation efforts have helped to stem the loss of the bats, and even reverse the loss in some areas.

Part of the reason for the gray bat's decline is that 90% of the population is concentrated in only eight caves during the hibernation period.
