Embedding youtube videos

Does anyone know why I have been unable to embed youtube videos on dreamwidth? I am using firefox. When I put the embed link in nothing shows up.

Are you trying to imbed in a comment (it's not allowed) or on your personal journal (I have no idea)?

doesn't work for comments, but embeds in main entries work

I actually thought that was just the way Dreamwidth was set up. I've never been able to embed.

It's not just you, it's everyone.

I think it's a preference setting for community owners, like how images for anons and openid users are placeholder images that need to be clicked. Or, it's a dw bug that's still being looked into.

Yeah I think Case set it up this way because too many trolls were embedding autoplaying stuff.

Only certain account levels can embed vids in comments (paid and seed) if it hasn't been disabled by the journal owner/comm mod.

Ah, okay. I guess I am getting LJ comms I frequent confused with FS. I remember being able to embed on those and thought I could do it on here.
