People thinking of Daine as a Mary Sue. I actually think Aly's much more of a Sue, in the sense that, well, at least Daine goes through difficulties (the Snowsdale stuff, her mother's death). Aly waltzes into the Isles and seems to slide through the rebellion like a knife through butter.

I understand why people think so, but I don't agree.

Also, YKINMK. Some kinks are skeevy, end of story.

to a lesser extent, people (mostly on tumblr, surprise surprise) who claim that Mulan is canonically trans. first of all...cross dressing to save your father from dying in a war =/= trans. secondly, you could call any other disney princess trans and I wouldn't give half a fuck but with mulan it's just...it's literally missing the point. she was never comfortable being Ping and she only became him because as a woman she would have been severely punished if she joined the army. a major part of the movie was about her not feeling comfortable in the strictly defined roles established for women of the time. she wanted to be a free, independent woman not a dude

So much yes to the Loki thing. (Also when people do the same for Regina from Once Upon A Time. If you like her alright, but people who act like she can do no wrong drive me up the wall.)

Yes to both of these things!

I don't mind Loki fans, really I don't, but OOC+character bashing drives me up a wall. To make Loki a good person who's just misunderstood but entitled to forgiveness (and the cock of whichever heroic character) requires so much handwaving of everything good about the story line that it just drives me up a wall.

Also: Mulan was never comfortable, at all, until she was able to find strength on her own terms rather than society's. THAT WAS THE POINT.

The victim blaming in parts of the Rise of the Guardians fandom, where the Pitch-fans blame the Guardians, and make Pitch attacking them into the Guardians fault.

Nope.
