Well, "deep philosophical dialogues" often mean "drunken 'no, man, but really, it's like... a thing!' conversations" and some of those characters are known for their boozing, so I could see it happening.

Yeeah, this. And there is a fic or two where a couple characters do have some serious talks during/because of boozing somehow.
