Some people prefer to write one type of character and there usually isn't anything malicious behind it. But this secret just reads like a weak excuse and guilty conscious talking, to me. Even something like "Playing women constantly reminds me of my own oppression" is way more understandable than "I don't want to have to write out the oppression," since, uh, you don't have to.
