Genius sleuth-type character (Sherlock, L, etc.) gets drugged with something that messes them up cognitively and they have to try and figure out who did this to them and what to do next while their mind is basically falling apart more and more every moment.

Ultimately, they don't succeed and the perpetrator takes advantage of them while they're confused, helpless, and barely coherent.
