Fair warning, there's some mild eye-related grossness ahead.

When I got to the barn today I discovered that my horse Sharif has a minor but still worrisome eye injury. I think it got poked with a branch or something. There's a bump with a bloody hole in the middle on the inside of his bottom right eyelid. The hole is too big to have been caused by a sting from a wasp or bee, and anyway the rest of the area isn't swollen enough for that to be the case. The eye itself is fine for now, but I'm still pretty worried about what could happen if it gets infected. At least he didn't fuss much when I cleaned the wound, so that's a good sign. He just kept looking at me with this "Mama, make better" expression the whole time. He did perk up a bit when I put his fly mask on him for protection, though. I don't know why, but he just loves wearing that thing. The other horses seem to hate it and always rip it off of him, so I put him in a separate pasture with his gentle, easy-going BFF Butch for the night (which was an adventure in and of itself. That horse did not want to be caught). Needless to say, I'm going back to check on my boy first thing in the morning.

In the meantime, I could do with some cheering up. Does anyone have any cute horse-related macros and/or gifs to share?

Oh no! I hope it's nothing serious! Glad to hear he's such a nice boy, though. I know what you mean about those fly masks -- boy, can they be a challenge!
