Um, for English I had to read the Phantom of the Opera, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and Step by Wicked Step. I think that's what you're talking about.

Of course, this being Malaysia, the first two were abridged versions. Fascinating how they want to encourage reading yet make us read watered down, kids version of interesting books and expect us to get excited about it. I mean, Step by Wicked Step was pretty good but it discussed family issues that could trigger a kid. My English teacher was all up in arms about it, she didn't think it should be allowed.

For English Literature, we had Holes. That was much better, we had a lot of fun. We went through that novel so many times, I don't think there's a single issue we didn't discuss.
