And this is the problem with a lot of explicitly Christian media; it's like the creators realize that there are a lot of conservative Christians who can't handle being exposed to media that doesn't explicitly reference Christianity and will thus consume Christian media regardless of quality, so why bother making it good?

I think it's more an issue of people who want to spread a message seeing media as a great way to do it, rather than people who love media appreciating a message and wanting it to shine through in their work. So you wind up with a lot of low-quality media by people who just see it as another way to preach without really taking the time to understand the art behind said media.
