Yep, I can think of one case where I wrote an extremely homophobic OC to make for conflict with the slash pairing that were the actual focus of the fic.

And then I'm Christian, but a lot of my characters are agnostic or atheist, because really, it wouldn't make sense for them to be religious, and especially for them to follow mine.
