Re: What was your assigned reading in HS?

I read it in High School, and I enjoyed it at the time, but then idk through the course of discussion it just lost its luster. Personally, I feel like there are other books that would have been better.

Anyway, my reading list was: Of Mice and Men, To Kill A Mockingbird, Lord of the Flies, East of Eden, Edith Hamilton's Mythology, The Bible As Literature, Macbeth, The Poisonwood Bible (for some ungodly reason), The Scarlet Letter, The Great Gatsby, The Canterbury Tales, Hamlet, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, And The Earth Did Not Devour Him, Grendel, Things Fall Apart, Invisible Man, Beowulf, Wuthering Heights, Ceremony, Song of Solomon, Obasan, The Stranger, King Lear, Dante's Inferno, Crime & Punishment, and ... probably some other things I've forgotten

Lot's of poetry and smatterings of short stories, too, of course.
