Well, that kind of makes sense. I mean, there's a lot of things that could make people dislike the Doctor/River ship, but a lack of chemistry between Matt and Alex sure as fuck ain't one of them. ;)

That's how I feel. There's so much I like about the idea of River and the idea of the Doctor and River (although I'm not sure if I'd call it shipping), but the execution...oh god, the execution. I wonder if that's what people mean by "head canon"...because I do sort of transplant the idealized version of River and what she could have been (the levelheaded and occasionally flirtatious archaeologist with her own time travel) with what she actually is (groupie).
