I take random pictures of myself with my laptop and I pretend they're of someone else, someone I don't know, and I make up stories about who that girl is. I don't dress up for them or adjust anything in any way. I just get an urge to take some pictures and I do. It's getting weird. I have 433 of these pictures and I can't delete any of them because I remember every single imaginary person they are and I love every single one of her. I don't keep any pictures of me on my laptop though.

And sometimes I sit in the car for half an our and comb though my hair and snip off individual split ends while not thinking about anything.

I stare into mirrors making eye contact until it suddenly seems like the reflection isn't me anymore but looking at another person through a window or something. I'll do the same to windows and other reflective surfaces. Sometimes it gets a little dissociative and weird, those are the best times.

Everyone doesn't do that? :(

I blare music, dance like a dork, and talk to myself just a bit. Also make funny faces in the mirror.

(TMI but I mess with boobs sometimes, too.)

When I'm home alone, I make all sorts of random weird noises. Like, I'll seriously wander around going, "Gik gik gik gik gee foof ffffffwoo wooeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeee bloop bloop badabadabadabada bweem bip bip ccccchhhh gooooom" etc. And sometimes I hop around on all fours.

I think my cats might think I'm a little weird.

Finally! I have never hopped around on all fours.

Before now. The only way I could figure to do it easily was like a frog. Did I do it right?

I no longer even bother to confine this to when I'm alone. I wouldn't do it in front of just anyone, but my immediate family are totally used to me suddenly doing this now.

Your cats should get used to you, too, anon! :)

I'm with you making the weird noises!! and I do "la la la LA LA la la" in this really weird voice that I really don't know how I conjure. I don't hop around, but I do move by leaping around and trying out ridiculous karate high-kick type moves, complete with the accompanying "hiii-yah!" noise.

also, if I see something I like, like on the tv guide or in the fridge, I express my satisfaction by making a chicken noise. "bk-AWWK" style. not sure where that came from. my cat just ignores me.

Kinda order my thoughts as if I was different people? Like, if I'm watching a movie, I sometimes comment different perspectives on it as if separate people were saying them. Idk if that means I'm really lonely or I'm just used to it because I write.

On that same line, I sometimes speak out random scenes out loud, maybe act them a little.

when I watch films or read books, I often catch myself explaining it in my head to a random imaginary person.

I make private entries on my journal and have conversations or debates in the comments section. Just going back and forth and having long detailed conversations with myself. Some of them can get pretty heated. Once in awhile a troll shows up. It gets crazy in there.

I put folded fabric between my fingers. I can't really describe it... like, if you're wearing jeans and cross your legs, the fabric buckles, or hanging curtains, or a rucked up blanket... I have some weird compulsion to put the fabric between my fingers. I don't do it when people are watching because I know it's REALLY weird, but sometimes I will like leave a room and sit on the floor with my legs crossed so that I can do it.

I know. That is simultaneously the weirdest and most boring compulsion ever.

It's not quite the same, but I have this fascination with textures and seem to have sensitive feet and hands. So I'll wind plastic wrappers around my fingers and cross my toes over each other and put bits of tissue under my fingernails and on and on. I can certainly see the appeal in folded fabric!

(Unlike you, though, I can't really limit this to when I'm alone, so I've had conversations like, "Why are you doing that with that plastic?" "Ummmm... I don't know? Was I doing that? I wasn't doing that. Please forget everything you ever saw. Because you didn't see anything.")

I've thought of one - when I'm reading books or fic and am alone, at really exciting moments in the story, I'll get up and walk around furiously for a while. I get too into things and get excited for What Might Happen Next. Obviously I can't do this around others, because it would result in some embarrassing questions, but it's really difficult to stay still all the same. If something is really really good, I might not read it around other people for this reason.

I sort of do this too. I start pacing whenever sometime exciting or sad happens in whatever media I'm currently involved in, and I feel like i need to calm down a little before continuing on. I do it after stuff ends too, so I'll sort of decompress after a series or good episode.

Oh I do this exactly! But I'm a big pacer anyway. I'm always pacing in my room... But it gets terrible when I get really excited or focused(like when I'm drawing I just have to get up and work off some energy)

I do the same thing! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who does this.

I'll put on loads of makeup in a ridiculous way and then like "Mulan" myself by removing half (or only doing half in the first place).

I'll stick my hand down my pants when I'm just watching tv or reading or computering. Not even really masturbating, just... my hand is THERE.

I'll look myself in the mirror and judge my acting capabilities, and like re-enact dramatic scenes from films and see how long it takes me to cry

I pick my nose and clean my toes.
I scrape the plaque off of my teeth.
I floss with hair but they get stuck,
so dig I must from underneath.

After I watch or read something, I have to take time explaining it to someone in my head in massive detail. Not speaking aloud, just sort of daydreaming that I'm explaining it to a friend or family member. Sometimes I think its how I kinda make myself understand things, because I do this with school work too.

I fix the order of things on shelves/racks in stores from where other people have put them back wrong. I've had people tell me I'm weird for doing the employees job for them, so I'll only do it if no one else is around. I just can't stand seeing things out of order in stores (doesn't bother me anywhere else)

I chew on my fingers when alone.

I had a lot of weird facial tics as a kid that I kind of just learned to keep at bay in public, but if I'm not thinking about it and nobody's watching my face can kind of... get away from me sometimes. I guess that's not strange in the sense that it's not really something I choose to do for fun, but I've definitely had moments when I realize someone actually did see me twitching like crazy and I feel like a wacko :/

I ... sort of rub? my hair, feeling for split ends and yanking them off. Especially when I'm under a lot of stress.

And I sing! Anything I feel like - current favorites are some songs from choir, "There's a Bimbo on the Cover of My Book", and "Summertime", with a Swedish filk version about cats and summer as a "second verse". I sing it to our cats.

Oh, and sometimes when I proofread I try to read the text aloud to the cats. They usually get bored and walk away, though (figures; I'd do the same in most cases).

I do the hair thing all the time. I usually do it at the computer though, and I used to do it in class when I was in college. I can't just sit still so hey, why not find awesome split ends? I've found some great ones. My boss actually asked me about it... so. It was awkward.

I make weird sounds, or make up songs, or talk to my cat. Not too unusual. Although I do talk to my cat in an entirely rational manner. Yesterday I tried to convince him that if he learned English, I'd get him whatever he wanted. Within reason.

If the floor of my apartment wasn't so... uh. Sketchy in terms of solidity and carpet cleanliness (and small, let's not forget that), I would be rolling around on the floor, dancing about, dragging myself across the floor, collapsing for no reason. So on. Every day at work it's so hard not to just scream and pull myself across the floor before collapsing and not moving. But that might say more about my job than me.
