But the OP wasn't demanding anything, or did you miss that in your rush to share your little slice of entitlement with us?

Not continuing to write when there's no feedback whatsoever isn't holding a story hostage, it's what artists do when they think nobody gives a shit. It's not wrong to want feedback. It's not wrong to think that well, if nobody likes this, maybe I should put my time to better use creating something that people WILL like. That's just what happens when reasonable people try to make something they hope others will enjoy.

If you like a story, review it. Doesn't matter if you don't know what to say, are worried that your comment is dumb or trite, etc. Think of something. It doesn't have to be a work of art, just say that you liked it and you're looking forward to seeing more because if you don't encourage the artists who create work that you love, there's an excellent chance you're cutting off your own supply of art to enjoy. Why do that to yourself?
