Oh, okay then. But if I'm writing a story only for myself, why should I post it anywhere? I mean, if no one's reading it, I can very well keep it on my hard drive, share with a friend or two, work on it in my own time, or not at all, whichever I prefer.

Since I'm writing it for my own enjoyment and nobody else's, I can just not show it to you at all.

It's such bullshit, telling people to write only for themselves and not expect other people to let them know if they're reading it or not. It's not like authors' demand God knows what kind of payment - we just want to know if we're making your day or not. If we didn't need that, we wouldn't need readers' approval, ergo there would be no reason to post anything AND THEN THE FANDOM WOULD DIE A PAINFUL DEATH.

So just like authors should respect their readers, readers should respect authors as well and not just wait for fun stuff to magically appear without doing anything nice in return, I think.
