Well, yaoi is basically anime/manga porn, involving two guys. While slash, I think, is a broad term used to desbribe malexmale pairings, even on fandoms where due to the origin, the term yaoi wouldn't apply. Basically, an american malexmale comic would be slash, and a japanese one would be yaoi or shounen-ai. KInda like some people only use manga to refer to Japanese comics, and use comics for everything else.

From what I know, yaoi is a japanese comic book story (aka manga) involving two gay guys.

"Slash" is a term designed to refer to two boys from any series (japanese or not) being written/drawn/shipped together, weather they're canonically gay or not.

They tend to be used as general terms referring to non-canonical anime/manga-related m/m pairings with seme and uke (yaoi) and non-canonical m/m pairings in television, books, whatever else (slash).
