21. Like someone else said, with American comics, I wouldn't know where to start. I do that whole 'if I don't know the canon inside out, I'm not worthy of being in the fandom' thing too. :/

25~ He goes by "Daigoji Gai" and he's from an otherwise mediocre mecha series called Martian Successor Nadesico. It's from the 90s sometime, not sure when... Basically, an older series. I swear Kamina was an homage to Gai.
(PS: Watch the first three eps of Nadesico just for Gai. He and Kamina have the same cruel fate. The rest of the series is BLAH, but Gai! ♥♥♥)

My husband played Gai in the English version; I'm secretly hoping he gets to play Kamina, too, although his voice is probably too deep for the role. Still.

(When I mentioned it to him, he got frustrated that the BURNING JUSTICE characters always die early in the series XD)

Tell him to watch King of Braves GaoGaiGar! It's an entire 49 episode TV series and 8 episode OVA of pure BURNING COURAGE!

It does start off pretty kiddy and monster of the week, since it was aimed at 8-10 year old boys, but it gets way better. Just don't be put off by the first ten or so episodes. If it really hurts, just skip to 14, where they have the transforming police ninja robot fight a Zaku. (if that doesn't sound good, maybe don't watch it after all...)

Unfortunately, the US DVDs went on hiatus literally the episode before it finally stops doing monster of the week crap and turns super awesome. Bleh.

21. Something to know is that no comics fan with a life knows the canon inside and out. There's too much of it and it all conflicts with each other. Really, don't worry about it. There's plenty of info online also, so it's best to pick a title you know you'll like, jump right in, and branch out from there.
