!!! You can get someone to treat you with dignity in their writing without having to die :/ For instance, you could kill someone and have her write about the murder...

On a related note, I've read a bit of Ann Rule and I've never understood why there is so much needless repetition in her books. It's like, she repeats the same supposition about a person or the same interpretation of a sequence of events several times throughout a book or chapter or even page with only a slight variation of wording, if at all. I don't understand. Does she even have an editor at this point?

I've actually had very much the same thought (though not with Ann Rule specifically). It's weird, yeah, but you're certainly not alone in that camp.
