Point is she could have fucked Eddard over if she wanted to. She could have had an affair with someone else behind his back. She could make his marriage to her miserable, he wouldn't have had her executed.

And how would that have helped anything?

yeah how dare she love him and eventually forgive him but still struggle, IN A VERY HUMAN WAY, with the whole "bastard son possibly threatening her children's standing in society" thing. not everyone gets hurt and jumps at revenge and making the rest of the other person's life a living hell (which no she DID NOT DO to Jon... he was lucky to have the life he had, Cat's discomfort was the worst he had to deal with. for a bastard he was fucking lucky)

"take it out"? what exactly do you think she was doing, nightly beatings? starving him? making him sleep in the barn? for a bastard he had it MADE. the WORST she did was be uncomfortable around him and he wasn't treated as well as legitimate children (and it's hardly only Cat that acted that way - he's a bastard)... the bad thing she said when her child might have been dying was the ONLY thing she ever said like that and Jon was an adult at this point
