Chatham Rise "She"
This band actually didn't play the festival proper, but a kickoff party at Red 7 on the same bill as The Rain Parade who I came to see (but was sort of disappointed in). In any case, I had never heard of Chatham Rise and now I'm kicking myself because I didn't have enough cash on me to buy their record... soooo good live (beware, this video is stupid)

I saw Man or Astroman? and that was pretty kickass and I can technically now say I have played guitar with them since the guitar made its way out into the audience and was passed to me for some reason... also, FLAMING THERAMIN but I think they're pretty well known by now so no reason to really plug them here

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST the headliners DEERHUNTER who I hadn't ever had a chance to see before, and happen to now be contenders for best live performance I have ever seen. They didn't play either "Vox Humana" or "Vox Celeste" which sort of disappointed me but uhhhh that version of "Desire Lines" was RIDICULOUS, here's a toned down live version they did for a tv show or something:
