I wonder where L0rdVega went. One day he was like "f this" on Twitter and he just disappeared. I hope he's ok.

He deleted his videos too - just recently in fact. Some kind soul is re-uploading them though.

Pewdiepie. First one I ever came across, the second one I didn't like, so I just never bothered to find another LPer.

Plus: I am an absolute chicken shit, so his weird comments break the tension enough that I don't get too scared and his screaming at the scary things (which is when I usually start screaming) is comedic enough that I start laughing instead of having to walk away.

His 'style' of lp'ing is a pox on the community. Plus you know tons of male LPers manage to never make rape jokes and still be funny.

Yeah, the rape jokes are terrible, but I really can't handle the tension of the horror games I like to watch so he's mostly a distracting noise so I can make it through. If there's someone else who LP's and breaks the tension without that, and a lot of the really annoying things he says, I'd watch them instead - but I don't watch LP's often enough to be bothered to go looking.

Try Agent JR or Deatheven13. DeceasedCrabs run of the Tribly series is good too and he breaks some of the tension with humor too.

AgentJR's already been mentioned, but I'll toss Lotus Prince (Valgaav19) and Cry (Chaoticmonki) out there as well.

Lotus loves the horror genre and the enthusiasm shows thtrough when he plays; I find that helps me with deflating the tension without completely removing the emotional impact of things, but I don't know where your thresholds are so he might not work for you. He's definitely worth a try, though, and if you don't like him for horror you may well enjoy his playthroughs of less tense stuff like El Shaddai or Beyond Good and Evil.

Cry's a friend of Pewdiepie's, but doesn't go to the same excesses. He's a bit more likely Lotus to start freaking out when games get creepy, but most of the time he's super mellow and he's got one of the most listenable voices in (English-language) LPing. There's a reason why there are so many people on the first page guessing that he's the sexy-voiced commentator that Secret 1 is about.

Also, try Helloween4545 - he exclusively does horror games and does an excellent job of breaking the tension (it's the only reason how I got through Amnesia) without making gross jokes. He does an EXCELLENT Skeletor impersonation.

He also manages to make the times when he gets genuinely scared funny by doing little lip-wibbles.

Raocow. Only LPer I watch regularly, mainly because his videos are usually happy and help me de-stress.

Roahmmythril, the Megaman Perfect Runs guy.

As evidenced by the name (and the fact that I run

mindcracklove), I have a soft spot for that server/community. I'm personally a big MC Gamer fan because he is just so positive and sweet, but I do love them all one way or another.

Redchocobo/Chorocojo! His Pokemon LPs are just the flat-out best.

I also really like PushinUpRoses, she's just great.

Roses is amazing. I've seen her live stream before because someone was having a horrible time of it and her streams always cheered them up.

Helloween4545! I love a guy who breaks into very good random Skeletor impersonations.

Also Paw does a few great ones of the Kings Quest series on That Guy With The Glasses site.

And, of course, Rooster Teeth. Their Minecraft ones are awesome.

Cry

video, mostly horror and some action, awesome voice, mellow yet enthusiastic attitude, tends to play one game from start to finish so most of his let's plays are complete, has good lping habits like editing out things like repetitive backtracking and getting lost if they're not funny yay, marking playlists as abandoned if he abandons them [rare] and marking which video is the last one once he completes a let's play; very nice guy all around, also gets very much into character and atmosphere; check out his "cry reads"! also also updates super mega often, holy carp
