you know, i feel bad for Neil. I'm sure in the privacy of their home, when she takes off the mask, she's probably perfectly lovely. but good lord her public persona is AWFUL. she wants to be all ~wild~ because it's her ~image~ and she's purposefully hurting people in the name of art. Part of me wonders if they just... don't discuss work at home. His public persona seems so chill and relaxed and polite it's hard to believe he'd support how she acts (but I'm sure he supports her right to do so, and would never think he should "get control of his woman" like people have tried to tell him to do)

Well, yeah, but when you say things like "I feel bad for him", it seems silly. He has seemed very desperately in love with her, and that's what he cares about. I don't know why you should pity him if he's happy.

the same way i feel bad for anyone whose partner that constantly screws up? i don't feel bad because i think his relationship is bad or he's unhappy or anything like that. i feel bad because people probably assume the worst of him or he gets hate for shit that SHE does, etc etc. THAT'S what i feel bad for, the awkward position she might put him in. that's it.

Not silly at all. Lots of people are desperately in love with people who behave like assholes. That doesn't mean we shouldn't feel bad on their behalf, because loving someone who behaves like an asshole is tough.

I've seen, from time to time, reports from people who have dealt with Amanda in person and it's all been very positive. Apparentlyshe's lovely, very nice and down to earth. I'm not a fan of hers, I wouldn't recognise her music at all, but I find it interesting how people can be one thing in person and their persona completely different online.
