tbh I'm only here because omg The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency. The first book used to be my favourite and I was always upset I could never find the others. I think I'll try looking for them again some time, the book was such an influence in my early life <3

(Anonymous) 2013-05-01 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)I love those books, and I love her, too. I think she's a great character to take inspiration from. I haven't read very far into the series, but my favorite moment for the character so far is when she finally gets asked out on a date, but with a guy who turns out to be married. Rather than the whole thing resolving with the cheater being revealed and her being heartbroken, after going out with him once she felt actually pretty meh about him and wasn't interested in a second date anyway!
