Ah, I can see where that could get really uncomfortable.

Personally, I got the impression that it wasn't so much that Katniss didn't want children, period, as that she didn't want children because of the world they'd be born into- and that once the Games were over permanently, she was free to reevaluate that decision. I wouldn't have minded an ending where she still opted to not have kids, but at the same time I never thought of it as coerced.

But I'm with you on the pita jokes. I don't know that I could live with someone with a name like that and resist punning.
