Oh boy, it's so worth it! And it's not all doom and gloom. It's pretty dark and gritty and a lot of likeable characters bite the dust, but that makes the times where it turns out okay for someone even more satisfying. Lester and Kima and Daniels remain awesome throughout, and season three introduces another character in the same category of awesome.

I don't find it a depressing show. But it does a really great job showing why and how the system is broken.

(I thought season two is a bit slower and less engaging than the others, though still good. Seaon 4 is my favorite, I think it's all-around flawless.)
