Re: Looking for Doctor Who fic recs

I gotta admit to being at a complete and utter loss as to why anyone would want to read about Doctor Who without any space travel alien stuff or a supernatural equivalent, having never once encountered it before, so I gotta say...I don't think this is very common.

Not OP.

Because sometimes you (or I, rather) need a break from all that wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey-ness. As much as I love canon!Doctor Who, it's nice to just read about my favorite characters in a completely different, "normal" setting/situation sometimes. Not often because all that sci-fi stuff is what I love about the show, but sometimes.

I mean, how fun is it to imagine a totally batshit crazy/intelligent human!Doctor who ends up being Rose's university professor? It's just FUN. :)

OP

This! mostly

I just have this thing where I fall in love with humanoid non-humans and I want to see how they would be………human. It's about one of two reasons I remain in the mostly irritating Hetalia fandom. I stick around for human!aus and theoretical philosophical stuff on what it is to be non-human. DW contains the latter mostly in the canon, so I just like a fix of the former. C:

Basically, I love the characters and I want their personalities explored in all of the ways, including noncanon.
