+1 I've only ever been "in" two major Internet fandoms in my life, and in both, my involvement ended disastrously.

I was in RL general fandom for a while, but I was living in a big city, so there was more to do and see and, most importantly. MORE BOOKSTORES. I live in the back of beyond now and the one and only con that comes to town is peopled with D- and E-list guests and fans who haven't opened a book without pictures unless it was for a school assignment.

Beg pardon. I miss Ad Astra like burning, but I just don't think I can get into the groove again.
