Thoughts on Doctor Who
I've just realized that in my head, the Doctor doesn't really equate kissing with romance. Like, he knows that humans do, as a general rule and all, but he himself sees it as, like, hugging+.
I think this explains a great deal about why it was weird and sort of creepy when Victorian!Clara was like, "Let's make out!" and the Doctor was going, "Aaaah what are you doing!", whereas in this episode he kisses three different people and it's not weird because he's not saying anything about how he feels for them - it's just another way to express emotion.
I dunno. Maybe it's just this one writer, but it makes a lot of sense to me.
