Tumblr help?

I've been trying to install disqus and it doesn't install, showing comment options as it should.

So, I guess I have to install it with editing html. Problem is I can't find a decent source that shows the html which very clearly shows where the shortname variable needs to be changed to my actual shortname.

Even the official page http://help.disqus.com/customer/portal/articles/758168-tumblr-manual-installation-instructions
is unclear about this. For example, on step 3 do you change that to your shortname?

Does anyone have a link to a better presentation of this html and exactly where the html has to be changed to my shortname?

I think you have to change your disquis shortname in the section of step 4 .
Try searching for '' with crtl+f if you copy-pasted it to the html, that's where the name should be.
The meta-part of part 3 just renames a longer term, shouldn't be that important imo.
I could be wrong, but it can't hurt to try, right?

I hope it works :) If it helps, I wouldn't have understood their instructions either if I didn't have a basic understanding of the code.

Yeah, I have some understanding of html and have installed layouts, but this is the most unclear instruction I have seen.

It looks like it's working on my own page now, but not on the dashboard?

I think that's normal, because you installed it as part of your theme, after all :(
Can't do anything about the dashboard until tumblr does something or someone invents a clever script like missing e or something idk
