Its literally impossible to say "it gets better/worse" because, unfortunately, opinions on this show vary so wildly that it's impossible to find two people who don't disagree in some big fundamental way.

Honestly, IMO it's one of those shows you just kinda have to get irrationally snagged by. I'd check out a few random episodes whose summaries sound interesting to you from the next few seasons, and If you're not interested in those either, just say "eh, it didn't really interest me" and stop watching. I don't think she'd mind if she has any awareness of the show's general fandom.

What episode did you last see? If you really want, I can make suggestion for whether you should keep plowing or not, but it's really very personal-opinion-oriented.

I don't remember what it's called but the one with the underground alien museum where Daleks would rather explode than have feels.

I not the kinda person who can just pic a few episodes and see. I'd end up plowing through them all anyway just to find out what happened. At least if I keep watching it I'll know WTF she's talking about all the time. Everything I know about Dr. Who I learned from here.

Hm. I warn you that the next two episodes are lame and kind of slow-paced, respectively. But after those two episodes, there's the two parter of The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, the one set in WWII, and I'd say don't quit until you at least watch that, because I think that's one of the very few episodes that most people agree is either good, great, or spectacular (usually, a third of the people like an episode, a third love it, and a third hate it) and it introduces a really popular character.

If you like that two-parter, keep slogging until the season finale. If you don't, maybe just give it up, or watch until the season finale and then give it up. I think your friend would rather you just weren't interested in the show than have you resent/hate it.
