Do you prefer big fandoms or little fandoms?

:o

I like larger fandoms, myself! More content!

Ehhhhh. Larger have more content but generally less drama. But considering I tend to avoid drama, going to have to go with larger fandoms. :)

I used to gravitate toward smaller fandoms for various reasons, but now that I'm in a big fandom? I LOVE IT TO BITS ZOMG

Depends on what I want

- I want to look at fanart and read fanfic? the bigger the better please

- I want to contribute fic/aret/thoughts? I prefer the smaller fandoms where you begin to recognise names. Feels more welcoming and I've been lucky so far in missing any drama

Medium fandoms. There's some fic and art, but the fandom isn't so huge and fast-moving that you can't even hope to keep up with a fraction of it, which is my problem with big fandoms.

Little fandoms, because almost all of the things that I like have them.

I used to like smaller ones for the sense of community, but now I've taken to liking larger ones for the content, a less niche audience for fanfic, and the fact that it's become a lot easier to form my own filters and social circles in them.

The larger the better. I tend to really go for minor characters and the bigger the fandom the more chance there is a niche of it that actually pays attention to the character I dig.

Large ones. Not that there's anything wrong with smaller fandoms, but imo the more content the better. (Now obviously not all that content is going to be good but more choice is a positive thing.)

Well, large fandoms have more content, but also more drama and annoying fans. Really though, I'd trade the drought of fanworks for annoying fans in droves any day. Recently the FE fanbase got bigger because of Awakening and I feel like the only one who thinks that way though. Everyone from prior to the awakening boom is bitching ala "damn kids in my yard" and I'm just sitting here enjoying the influx of new fanworks.

Larger fandoms create more fanworks which I like, but in smaller fandoms everyone knows each other which is nice.

However, even if a fandom is large it might die out quickly. But a small fandom might keep kicking 'cause of close knit relationships.

Depends. Like with the NCIS fandom, I loved when it was little, back in the early seasons. People were awesome with their "ship and let ship" attitudes and they were friendly and were awesome with each other. Then the USA network started showing repeats, the fandom exploded, and the drama took off. So many people started posting hate about characters and ships and I just couldn't take it anymore and had to leave it.

And don't even get me started on my horrid experiences in the Supernatural fandom.

However, I've been in a couple of larger fandoms that were not batshit insane. And I dislike when a fandom is so tiny that there is basically nothing out there and I feel like my voice is echoing in the void.

So, I guess medium sized? Or small and prolific or large and sane?

I have never been in a little fandom until now and I find that the experience is pretty pleasant :) Plus it's fun to contribute things to a small fandom, people appreciate it more lol
