So I should tag it Homestuck even though it doesn't have anything to do with Homestuck other than the art style? *doesn't have a good grasp of tagging etiquette yet*

Speaking as someone who disliked Homestuck even before it was everywhere/before I Tumblr'd for the art style, that would be much appreciated.

Okay. I guess I just worry that then people tracking the Homestuck tag will be like, "this has nothing to do with Homestuck, gtfo". Probably I just worry too much, though.

(Though, will whatever it is that people use to blacklist phrases keep people from seeing things with tags that... include that phrase? Like, if I tagged it "homestuck sprites" or something, would someone who'd blocked "homestuck" see it or not? Sorry, I'm not good at this yet...)

If you tagged it 'homestuck sprites' then at least the Firefox version of Tumblr Savior would block it, yes. So if you do something like that it works too. (Don't worry. Tumblr Savior and other such blocking things are kinda weird sometimes, I doubt anyone fully gets them.)

Okay, cool. Thank you for the help! I'm still pretty new to tumblr, and I'm finding tagging in particular to be kind of baffling and stupidly anxiety-inducing.

you could always use 'homestuck/'
tags with a slash don't show up in the tagged system but tumblr savior does catch it.
