Does anyone know which secret post contains that general comments thread about someone disliking America? It had ill_omened in a long part of the thread and some great discussion by anons?

I'm just curious, but I'd appreciate the help if anyone can find it. :)

Are you thinking of the one where there was a non-fandom secrets thread and someone was like "I like living in America, I think it's a good place to live. Not that other places are bad, I just think it's a good place" and then ill_omened was like "Actually America is the worst and look at all these statistics about how terrible America is" and then we had a nice long argument?

Or are you thinking of a different one?

There have been a few like that, tbh. ill_omened has a habit of stirring up anti-American wank and saying a bunch of stuff that isn't accurate (you have socialised healthcare because you want to be like us!) and then everyone dogpiles him and he stops responding to the threads where he's been proved wrong about stuff. There was one about a month ago and another sometime in early January, IIRC.

Which one?

He's been around longer than you. Maybe your shiny distracted some peoples' attention away from him? I doubt it's many, though. It seems like only the same few people have a chardhateboner and lots of us like you. You're funny more often than not and you've also shown a lot more compassion than I think you get credit for. No one seems to like ill_omened because he's pretty vile and never funny.

Nope, ill_omened is a dude from the UK (according to him), hence all his participation in the America sucks threads.

It's really easy to prove him wrong because he doesn't fact check, and that at least usually gets him to stop replying. :)

His sudden unwillingness to reply is ridiculously fun to watch. He'll just stop replying to one thread but keep on in others until he's been proven wrong in each individual thread.
