This is me in a way. *disregarding the fannish connection*

My father died almost 9 years ago. He was my best friend, the only one who ever understood me. I'm still half a person without him.

It has taken me many years to realize he was also abnormally abusive. Very abusive. When I was younger, he beat me. When I got older, the abuse turned psychological instead.

He REFUSED to admit when he was wrong and someone else was right.

I'm still struggling with the thought that my dad wasn't a perfect person. Because he was so bright, so fiercely intelligent, so talented in so many areas. He was my idol.

The idol who trapped me in a corner and beat the shit out of me when I was 11.

Is it wrong that I still love him and would give ANYTHING to have him back?
