Yes, that's supposed to be a guitar. My favorite is just to his left.

Cool. For the record, I wasn't confused becasue the art's bad, but because there are other types of stringed instruments, like ukeleles and violins.

Well that specific drawing is about the size of a penny so I wouldn't be surprised if it was unclear! I think, based on the goofy point, I was thinking of an electric guitar.
