Yeah, I enjoyed the first three seasons. Even then, though, I thought it lacked the sincerity of, say, The Simpsons (and having rewatched the third season this past week, I stand by that word--the family and relationships in that show were very sincere and loving). But it wasn't really about absolutely horrible people doing absolutely horrible things and ha, that's funny!

It's like after his show got resurrected twice, MacFarlane just knows he's invincible and does awful stuff because he knows he can get away with it. He has zero restraint and after a certain point, that's just not funny anymore (see: Russell Brand).
