Well. Yeah, kinda. Though I totally cried at the end of The Kindly Ones. and all through The Wake. *Sniffle* He was emotionally repressed, distant, unintentionally cruel at times (and intentionally cruel at others), and often meted out punishment excessive to the crime.

... Great character, though. <3

That's... actually, I get that. I think your choice of personification of everything you hold dear lacks somewhat, but I've certainly called on the ideals of a fictional character under stress, especially ones who mean a lot to me.

Don't let my off-handed-ness discourage you from being true to yourself.

I know he's a jerk, he's far from perfect. If I idealized something "perfect" I'd actually be worried. True, I don't try to emulate his less than stellar qualities. It's the fact that he governs over dreams and stories. That's what gets me.
