Not that I'm supporting #5 in any way- I think it's a really, really sick secret- but I find it equally saddening when people use explicit violence as a plot device and nobody protests. Like, why is violence without genitalia considered "okay", but once sex comes in, everything's automatically "not okay"? I wish people weren't as inundated with violence as they are- rape and murder seem like equally horrific experiences/acts to me. But if a character is raped, everybody screams... um, 'rape', I guess.... whereas if somebody dies, everybody's like, 'meh'.
Rape is a form and expression of violence, after all.
