Favorite canon crossovers

(Anonymous) 2013-05-10 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Has your fandom ever done a canon crossover with another work? Or hell, a non-canon but official one, like those Marvel/DC and Star Trek/Other Sci Fi tie-in comics?

My favorite crossover is the Simpsons episode The Springfield Files - crossover with the X-Files. Legit one of my favorite episodes of not only the Simpsons, but the X-Files as well -- reminded me a bit of Small Potatoes.

I love this Simpsons episode to bits as well! From Mulder's naked photo under his badge to Homer making the lie detector explode, I love every second of it.

There is a Star Trek TOS comics crossover with X-Men, and it's about the best thing ever. Kirk hits on Jean Grey. The Dr. McCoys get mixed up. Wolverine and Spock fight. Oh, and the villains work pretty well. XD

I bought it off Ebay for 3 dollars a few years back, so it's out there. :)

This is the cover:

I remain convinced that that happened purely for the 'Dr McCoy?' scene.

Ahhh, I love that Simpsons episode. Very funny, especially as a big X-Files fan. :)

I think Star Trek: TNG crossed over with Doctor Who in comics somewhere.

The crossover was called Assimilation2, and was released by IDW last year.

The TMNT: Turtles Forever special , if it counts.

And Link showing up in Soul Calibur II.

Boy, there's a lot of Star Trek in this thread...

And I'ma add another.

The Star Trek: TOS/Legion of Superheroes miniseries DC and IDW released year before last.

Especially when the identity of the villain was revealed (it made SOOO much sense). Flint and Vandal Savage were revealed as their respective universes' versions of the same person, and in this combined universe, had become Emperor of the Terran Empire.

Speaking of IDW and crossovers, their Infestation crossover from a few years ago. (I haven't read the second one, yet.) Not all of the tie-ins were great (Ghostbusters, particularly, was weak, and the GI Joe mini barely had anything to do with anything), but the Transformers and Star Trek (THERE IT IS AGAIN!) minis were great - especially the Star Trek (McCoy's reaction when Kirk meets the local version of Britt cracked me up). (And the TF mini included a robot-zombie-vampire!)

Two have been mentioned - Star Trek TNG and Doctor Who had a comic series, and Link from Ocarina of Time was in Soulcalibur II. The Soul series has had several more, actually - Link was in the Gamecube version of SC2, Heihachi from Tekken was on the PS2 version, and Spawn from the comic series was on the XBox version. SC4, bizarrely, had the Apprentice from the Star Wars Force Unleashed game, with Yoda appearing on XBox 360 and Darth Vader on PS3. And SC5 had Ezio from Assassin's Creed, which at least MAKES SENSE given the time period, and not... Star Wars in a medieval fighting game, what the fuck, I love Star Wars but NO.

Uh, anyway. My favourite is Link in SC2.
