I couldn't see this movie because they made Tony have panic attacks, and I can't watch people having them >.<' And now I keep hearing on every corner how awesome it is. So much for not regretting the choice.

IDK, I just. I always start smiling really broad, laughing aloud and flailing every time I read/watch something good. This is public and can sometimes be really embarrassing. Perhaps emotionally an orgasm is a stronger reaction, but at least it's unnoticeable (in your case). And it must be really pleasant. Nothing to be ashamed of, IMO.

IIRC, there's 3 (maybe 4) instances in the movie of what I'd call pretty mild panic attacks. I've had a few in my lifetime and if they hadn't been called panic attacks I'm not sure I'd have called them that myself. He's not sitting there, gasping for air, pale, realllllllly considering trying the plastic bag trick since I'm hyperventilating, thinking he's gonna die or thinking he's having a heart attack the way I was. I'd classify them more as flashback-y and trying not think about it myself for the most part (he behaves the way I behave when I'm trying not to think about something, I think). RDJ gets kinda wide-eyed and walks off talking about the panic attack but not really having one imo.

"He's not sitting there, gasping for air, pale"

except he is? yeah his panic attacks are mild, he's still able to communicate and such, but he's obviously crouched down/having to sit, having trouble breathing/chest pain... he's not GASPING for air but it's clearly more labored. Pale is hard to tell, yeah, make-up and the like... but yeah

they may be mild to you, but he WAS having panic attacks and if the original commenter has a hard time seeing panic attacks these WILL bother him/her.

I just got of the movie a couple of hours ago. I didn't see labored breathing in the movie during the "panic" attacks; he got up and paced around--he acted kinda disturbed, but I still wouldn't label it as a "panic" attack ime and my friends' experiences w/them (nor did my friends label them as such); widening your eyes and taking a couple of deep breaths doesn't really count imo. He breathed harder in the action scenes. And, yes, I was looking for it as I already knew about them and wanted to see how the movie did them. I was really disappointed with the acting in those panic attack scenes since I've had them myself. I can see the panic attack in the first panic attack episode moreso than than the later ones in the movie. But, yeah, they're not that convincing to me.

And, yes, that's why I tried describing the scenes to him/her; for them to assess their comfort level.

lbr if they showed more realistic panic attacks (and given RDJ's past, he probably VERY WELL knows how to act those out) we'd have SJWs saying the movie is "triggering"

best he did mild panic attacks/anxiety episodes, rather than realistic ones he had to work through which would have made the scenes longer and wasted some time. he did the job well of showing he had PTSD and anxiety, i think he did fine
