Am I the only one who found her way too thin? She just looked gaunt to me.

she's an actress in Hollywood and wants to get work with some actual range in character... if she gets too muscled she becomes the tough lesbian that dies in every action movie... if she fattens herself up she becomes the comedic sidekick... she's fucked. She must remain rail-thin to remain hireable and sexy.

^Just so you know I do not actually condone this shit, but it's still true.

I know, I get why she is so thin. I just don't get why everyone is saying how great she looks. I haven't seen any posts saying that she could do with upping her weight a bit. Her body fat percentage is lower than it should be but no one else seems to have noticed this or if they did they think it looks great.

Maybe because she's probably happy with her weight and we're not here to tell her what to do with her body? But no, you're right, that's on us. We should be shaming her for being so fuck-ugly without those extra 10lbs. THE SHAME!

I just asked if anyone felt the same way. This is just my personal opinion and not a personal message to Gwyneth. Last time I checked these were still ok. I never said she was ugly, just that she looked unhealthy. I'm concerned that the general public would say that she looks good when, in my opinion, she does not look healthy.

Also, I find it difficult to believe that you've never said that you think someone looks too thin or too fat...

She didn't really look any different that usual to me. She's always been thin, but I've never thought she seemed unhealthily so.

In any case, for me, it wasn't hot because of how she looked but because of the situation and what she was doing.

iawtc, finding a woman attractive in a situation does not have to be about her body. she was GLOWING. she was LITERALLY HOT. and she was kicking ass, taking names, and saving the hero. this does not have to be about her goddamn waist size, jesus xD

Thank you, I perhaps hadn't appreciated this is what people meant. I was just struck by the fact that she looked unhealthy and was surprised that no one had commented on this while there were lots of "she looks hot!" posts. I guess my mind just put them together as this is what stuck in my mind from the scene.

I agree that this standard does exist and is sexist and horrible but I also think GP is just a skinny person. She doesn't look unhealthy to me, just thin.

she doesn't look unhealthy to me either. she's tall and i think that extenuates her thinness and makes some people think it's unnatural, but to me it looks about right. just thin. it can happen without her being starving or something :)

Yes? I thought she looked fine and great. I can't count her ribs in that picture. She just looks skinny to me. And I love that she has small boobs and that she's the light of Tony's life instead of a curvy, big-boobed woman (which I am myself--I just love seeing her body type on screen--I love that it gives women w/smaller boobs representation so that they don't feel that they "need" a boob job for whatever reason (men, clothes (haha; yeah, right; most clothes look like hell on a big-boobed woman like myself--designers design for Paltrow's body type not mine--I'm kinda envious of some styles they can wear that I can't--and honestly big boobs are way the fuck overrated.). Of course, I love the curvy woman representation too these days. I like seeing my body type on screen too. But really, it's usually non-curvy women w/boob jobs that they tend to call curvy;sometimes it is a genuine curvy woman with T&A and hips.

Lol. Look at the typing I did just to avoid the you hate curvy women statements b/c I said I liked Paltrow's body in IM3.

I've nothing against thin women, larger women and any other body shape. I just think that she doesn't look healthy. She follows a very specific diet and works out everyday, this isn't her natural shape.

Seriously? What's with people jumping on me for giving my personal opinion.

I never said that diet and exercise is bad, please do not put words in my mouth. Gwyneth's diet, from what I have seen in her cookbook, and her exercise routine, from what I have seen of her exercising with Tracy Anderson, both appear to be borderline anorexic. I am not the only person who feels this way.

You posted on a public forum and you're going to throw a fit when people don't agree with you? You started out acting like it was a huge shock that people find her attractive. Not a good start. Just go away and maybe grow up and learn someday that some one's "health" (read: looks... if she were fat and doing this same thing I'm sure no one would say anything) is none of your business and you're not "better" than the people who don't judge her.

I think she does look healthy. So, b/c she diets and exercises every day it's not her natural shape? idgi. It's her natural shape b/c of the dieting and exercising--as far as I know (and, yes, I don't keep up w/her; I find it wise to separate my actors from their roles so I keep liking watching them in movies/tv shows), she's not having plastic surgery to look that way so it is her natural shape due to her diet and exercising. Her lifestyle, diet, whatever, may be unhealthy (exercising every day isn't the devil (I used to do it myself until I stopped and now I'm 25 pounds overweight, I need to get back to it); it's sometimes necessary--I myself have hypothyroidism which lowers my metabolism so I gain weight easily and lose it hard and I do mean hard--I need to exercise every day for 30-60 min to lose, not just maintain; maybe GP is similar), I don't know, I've never read her cookbooks or other books, but it seems to be working for her. I don't notice her ribs poking out or whatever in IM3 like I do w/a lot of famous women celebs in movies.

You're right. She sounds like a borderline or all out anorexic. People BS about it because it's awesome seeing ladies kick ass (which it is) but she goes to weird extremes to be skinny and, yeah, it looks it.

That's probably why I ship them so much, because I see myself and my husband in their relationship. I didn't realize she had a small chest until you pointed it out.

I was just thinking the other day that it's not represented as much in media (especially in comics) so this has made me happy. =D

Ehh she's always been a very thin woman, so I know it's not like she crash-dieted for this film. In fact I'm pretty sure she pumped up a bit for it because when she was in that extremis cage-thing I remember thinking "holy shit, she's got abs". Now, very thin isn't really the type of lady-body that I tend to find most attractive, but I thought she looked good here. Maybe it was mostly the awesomeness of her as Pepper and that scene (and lbr the whole movie) but I had nothing to complain about

I think she's too damn skinny but I'm more annoyed by her entitled personality.
