(Anonymous) 2013-05-11 04:31 am (UTC)(link)The problem with crossing the three is that Who and Supernatural both have 'rules' in their universes that just don't play well with each other. For example, the Dr. has been around for so long he would have to have known about the elements at work in Supernatural on some level, and if it's Who universe, why would Earth be what the forces in Supernatural be focusing on? The Time Lord's are the group who 'seeded' the humans [iirc that is], so there'd be no reason for 'God' - or anyone in Supernatural really - to focus on Earth. And that's before you even get into more of the details.
That said...it's rare, but there are some fandoms that actually are fairly easy to cross over with most things - but that's because they're rules are relatively common, and they have a way that would make it canonly possible for them to reach places where the rules they're used to change to some degree.
tl;dr: I agree mostly, but being the different genres isn't really what kills cross-overs so much has having completely different universe rules.
