Agreed. And that small group of authors that keep getting rec'd are not even that good or the best out there. It's just another BNF circle jerk of a fandom. Maybe you could start the unknown authors/artists love meme yourself? I think people would join.

Um, doesn't this tumblr take submissions from anyone?
I mean, you put in the effort to make a secret about it - couldn't you have taken that time to nominate someone you really liked, or make a positive post about how you wish more people sent in nominations??

Then start one. Or rec your own unknown authors on that meme. Yes, sometimes it is circlejerking, but sometimes people just seriously don't know any good authors beyond that, and sifting through the shit for those few pearls is not something they got the time for. But seriously, just sitting here and whining about it, waiting for someone else to do something is bullshit.

Submit some then? They don't moderate what gets posted, it just takes a long time because they get A LOT.

Also if you want a blog just for unknowns,make one It's not hard to make a psd and enter new text every time.

You should start your own under-appreciated/unknown authors/artists rec list/community then! I know a lot of people would probably really appreciate it - especially the creators that get mentioned.
