The NCIS fandom has drama? I'm not in the fandom but I did peek once or twice looking for fic and I never saw any shipping wars or anything like that.

I think it's not as widespread as other fandoms (it definitely depends on where you go) but in recent years there's been a bit of a divide between people who want Tiva and people who don't want Tiva, people who like Ziva and people who wish she would die, people who like McGee and people who think McGee is a big fat bully to Tony, etc. Most of the fandom, in my experience, manages to have differing opinions without it getting nasty, but there are people who take it to extremes on both sides of these fights.

Yep, there's a part of the fandom who thinks McGee (and Ziva, for that matter) are both really mean to Tony. There was a pretty divisive fic written a couple years back in which McGee "gets his comeuppance" for being so mean to Tony.

I love Tony. I actually hate McGee. And I prefer it when McGee (and lately Dorneget) isn't around, because watching a character I love engage in bullying and hazing gives me cognitive dissonance. But that's not the fault of McGee, the character. He's never done anything to Tony that Tony didn't provoke him into ten times over.

Probably ancient history now, but the fandom went a bit insane back when Kate was shot and then Jenny and Ziva were brought in.

At least, I think some of the spanking is non-sexual. But at any rate there is a lot of it. Along with piles of other well-written and in-character fic (of the BDSM and tamer varieties).

As I said to the anon above, there was a lot of drama between the people who liked Ziva and the people who didn't. A lot of it manifested due to Tiva. So a lot of Tony/Gibbs people hated Ziva. And wished for her to die. A lot. (OMG if I saw one more person talking about how Ziva should die (preferably raped and tortured to death) after how she treated poor woobie Tony in the Season 6 finale, I might have shot someone.)

I left the fandom soon after that/because of that, so I cannot tell you if it continued, but it was really bad for awhile.

I didn't know the Tibbs people had it in for her. I will own to being one of the die-hard Kate fans whose hackles have still not gone down, but I don't think there are many of us these days.
